Data Group [Ar]: The cross sections for excitation of the fine-structure levels of Ar in the database have been calculated by the
Relativistic Distorted Wave (RDW) method. See R K Gangwar, L Sharma, R Srivastava and A D Stauffer,
J. Appl. Phys. 111, 053307 (2012) for a general description plus an application of these cross sections to modeling
of Ar plasmas. This paper also contains calculations of cross sections for the following transitions:
Ar 3p^5 4s (radiative levels) - 3p^5 4p
Ar 3p^5 4s (transitions among fine-structure levels)
Ar 3p^5 4p (transitions among fine-structure levels)
References for other transtions.
Some of these paper include analytic fits to the higher energy cross sections.
