Data Group [CH4]: C.D. Pintassilgo, MSc thesis (Universidade Tecnica Lisboa, 1995). The original cross sections were defined for energies up to 40 eV, and were adjusted as to yield good agreement between calculated and measured swarm parameters.
The current set, mainly based on the works of D.K. Davies et al 1989 J. Appl. Phys. 65 3311 (momentum-transfer, vibrational excitation and attachment), Y. Ohmori et al 1986 J. Phys. D: Appl. Phys. 19 437 and T. Nakano et al 1991 Jpn. J. Appl. Phys. 30 2912 (dissociation), H. Chatham et al 1984 J. Chem Phys. 81 1770 (ionization), was deduced from Pintassilgo's and extended to energies of at least 400 eV.
